From the time I first learned to shape my letters, I've been completely in love with the concept of creating with pen and paper. I know that no matter what path my life takes me on, I will always be writing. In one of my very first blog posts, I ranted a bit about how my world wants me to have my life planned out when I'm only nineteen. As of now, I have a plan. When my grandpa was on his deathbed, or rather his recliner (he never left it in those last days), he said something to my mom that I will never forget. He told her that one of his biggest regrets was not following through on his dream. My grandpa worked as many things in his life. He was a soldier, a truck driver, a carpenter, a landlord, and more. What he was not, was an accountant. The man was brilliant with numbers, and it was his dream to make his living with them. I don't know why he never achieved it. I don't if anyone else knows. I only know that I will not be him.
It is my dream to earn my place in the world as a writer. As of now, the path to that dream is through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UW - Madison. As difficult as it may be at times, I'm going to be accepted the the school, and I'm going to graduate from the school. I'm going to do it for my grandpa because he couldn't, and I'm going to do it for me.
